IWA

Language holyday and patience exercise on the telephone. The project collects telephone waiting loops from Austrian and German institutions. The unintentional humor of the unusual mixture of such strategies of delay plays with the stiff correctitude in both countries.

The installation consists of a modified telephone set, which is used as an interface to explore the waiting loop archive. IWA’s (Interactive Waiting-Loop Archive) interactive components enable participants to enjoy various waiting loops, record personal voice messages, and listen to already recorded voice messages from other users.
