The Boomtube Bike is a mobile sub-bass sound system built from my old BMX bike. The unusual subwoofer system that is mounted on the bike can only play back the low frequencies of the music. The piece refers, on the one hand, to the tradition of teenagers in Queens, NY creating giant sound systems on BMXs, and on the other hand to the misuse of music as a weapon.
